As we’ve mentioned about a billion times on here, books are a favorite way of ours to celebrate the holidays. Easter is no exception and one of the fun parts about sharing books at Easter is that they make the perfect stuffers for Easter baskets, wouldn’t you agree?! Below are a some fantastic Easter books we love that would each make a beautiful addition to an Easter basket or anytime to be enjoyed. This is an “ultimate” list which means that I plan on adding to it every year as we discover more Easter book favorites so check back every year!

“The Golden Egg Book” by Margaret Wise Brown and Leonard Weisgard- This book includes Golden Book Classics: Home For a Bunny and The Golden Egg Book. I remember especially loving The Golden Egg Book when I was a child and am so excited that I am now a mother and get to share it with my children!
“The Country Bunny and the Golden Shoes” by DuBose Heyward and Marjorie Flack- This book is a classic for a reason! It is a lengthier story but I love its “woman power” message and the charm of the vintage illustrations.
“The Easter Egg” by Jan Brett- This is a gorgeously illustrated (Of course, it’s Jan Brett!!!) story about a little bunny who wants to win the annual egg decorating contest so he can help the Easter Bunny deliver eggs on Easter. In the end he learns that kindness and sacrifice are some of the greatest contributions that one can make.
“Marshmallow” by Clare Turlay Newberry- This classic, award winner is the sweet story of a new bunny who is introduced into a home that houses a woman and a cat. It is all about transitions and acceptance. Though it isn’t strictly an “Easter” book, it is beautiful and features a bunny.
“We’re Going on An Egg Hunt” by Laura Hughes- This egg hunt book is especially fun because each page spread features flaps that children can lift to look for hidden eggs. It helps you feel like you are on the egg hunt with the bunnies. Plus, the last flap hides a surprise ending that is sure to have kids giggling.
“The Egg Book” by Britta Teckentrup- This is another book that isn’t strictly an Easter book and is hefty and geared more towards older children. It is a nonfiction book that is bursting with all sorts of interesting facts about eggs. It is gorgeously illustrated and perfect for older children for Easter.
The Easter Egg Artists by Adrienne Adams- This is an older book that is absolutely lovely and I’m slightly obsessed. It is about a bunny family who makes a living painting Easter eggs and how their son comes to love it.
Easter Parade by Irving Berlin and Lisa McCue- The text in this book is the lyrics to the classic song “Easter Parade” and features a father bunny taking his young daughter to the Easter parade. It is SO cute!
The Bunny Who Found Easter by Charlotte Zolotow and Helen Craig- This is another oldie, but goodie. In this story a lonely bunny searches for Easter because he wants some bunny company. It is so sweet and is perfect not only for Easter, but springtime as well.
It’s Easter, Chloe Zoe! by Jane Smith- Chloe learns all about sharing in this delightful new story that features her on an Easter egg hunt with her friends where everyone wants to find the coveted “golden egg”.
Happy Easter, Curious George by R. P. Anderson and Mary O’Keefe Young- We cannot get enough of Curious George in our house and these holiday books featuring him in more vintage style illustrations have our heart.
Richard Scarry’s The Bunny Book (Big Golden Book) by Patsy Scarry and Richard Scarry- Richard Scarry is a classic for a reason and his vintage style bunnies just couldn’t be any cuter. This edition is so well done.
“The Little Rabbit” by Nicola Killen- An adorable and imaginative tale about a little girl in a bunny suit and her stuffed rabbit. So full of creativity and the muted, restricted colors are lovely.
Board books
“Owen’s Marshmallow Chick” by Kevin Henkes- This short and sweet story can also be found in board book format and is about a little boy named Owen who ate all his Easter basket candy, but can’t bring himself to eat his marshmallow chick. It is simply too cute and he loves it too much. Definitely an adorable story.
“Ollies Easter Eggs (Gossie & Friends)” by Olivier Dunrea- In this darling book Ollie watches as all the other ducks color and hide easter eggs. Being incredibly curious, he gathers the eggs and hides them himself which is a pleasant surprise in the end to all of his friends.
“Llama Llama Easter Egg” by Anna Dewdney- Llama is on an easter egg hunt in the park for colorful eggs. However, in the end his favorite egg that he finds is one that is about to hatch. It is the perfect little Easter and Springtime book featuring a beloved character.
“Pat The Bunny (Touch and Feel Book)” by Dorothy Kunhardt- This is another book that isn’t strictly an Easter book, but it features a well known and beloved bunny. Plus it is so absolutely charming that it would make any Easter basket “blush” to hold it.
“Duck & Goose, Here Comes the Easter Bunny!” by Tad Hills- This one is a favorite at our house! In the story Duck and Goose want to hide and catch the Easter Bunny hiding eggs. It has a delightful ending that never ceases to entertain my kids.
The Tale of Peter Rabbit Story Board Bookby Beatrix Potter- What better time than Easter to introduce your child to one of the most beloved bunnies of all time?! I am a HUGE Beatrix Potter fan so Peter Rabbit is a must for us.
“Five Funny Bunnies” by Houghton Mifflin Harcourt and Hilli Kushnir- This simple, little counting book is so adorable and my kids love that it includes the Easter Bunny on each page spread. Seriously so cute!
“Here Comes Peter Cottontail!” by Steve Nelson, Jack Rollins and Lizzie Walkley- This darling board book has a padded cover and has the lyrics to the classic song “Here Comes Peter Cottontail”. We love to sing along as we go through the story and the illustrations are delightful.
“The Itsy Bitsy Bunny” by Jeffery Burton and Sanja Rescek- This cute book is all about a little bunny who spreads Easter cheer with a little help form his friends. They text can be sent to the melody of “The Itsy Bitsy Spider” which makes this little book extra fun!
