Bedtime for Yeti by Vin Vogel- I loved the first one so much when it came out and I was not disappointed with this one. This little Yeti is a favorite of ours.
A Small Thing, but Big by Tony Johnston and Hadley Hooper- I love the sweet message of this book and its simplicity in illustrations and text. Each page is so adorable that I could see it framed on a nursery wall.
Old Dog Baby Baby by Julie Fogliano and Chris Raschka- What’s not to love about baby books? This one has text that is super repetitive and is meant for very young children. It would make a great gift for a baby with a beloved dog friend.
Emerson Barks by Liza Wodoruff- This is one of those books where the cover attracted me the most at first, and if you peek under the jacket, the “undies” are pretty cute as well.
Drat That Fat Cat by Julia Patton- I’ll be honest, I wasn’t so sure that I would like this one. However, once I read it I found it absolutely hilarious. It doesn’t hurt that the expressions on the main character are so fun and, well, expressive.
Hug This Book!- A perfect book for book lovers everywhere! This book is simply a book that expresses love for books and encourages the reader to see their beauty too. The text and illustrations are super playful and I really adore this one.
Forever Falls and The Flying Machine by Glen Keane- It is no secret that I am a big fan of Claire Keane. (Two books of hers that I love are “A Fairy Friend” and “Little Big Girl“) So I “nerded-out” when I discovered that her father was a disney animator as well and that he had a few books. These are two of them.
Lift your Light a Little Higher by Heather Hensen and Bryan Collier-This is a thought provoking story with incredible illustrations that is based on the true story of Stephen Bishop who was known for being a “slave explorer”. It is a beautiful tribute to him.
Goodnight Bob by Ann and John Hassett- This is a simple bedtime story about a little boy named Bob who is afraid of the dar, but with the help of his flashlight he learns there is nothing to fear and is able to sleep. A good one for littles who are afraid of the dark.
Melena’s Jubilee by Zetta Elliot and Aaron Boyd- I love the illustrations in this book, and whats more I love its sweet message. It teaches that everyday is a fresh start and that we have the opportunity to choose what we will make of it.
