This is the age that my little guy started to really enjoy nonfiction books and I was SO excited! A couple of his favorites made this list along with some other really fun interactive books as well as stories. These books are all so much fun for story time and are our go-to books that we have read over and over and over again. We hope you enjoy them as much as we do!

“Say Zoop” by Herve Tullet- This interactive books invites you to make silly sound effects in correlation to the simple illustrations. My kids LOVE it and it is so fun to hear them “read” it on their own and make silly noises to their hearts content.
“Don’t Push the Button” by Bill Cotter (And THIS personalized one by Put Me In the Story)- This interactive books is such a fun one! It features a lovable monster who begs you not to push the “button” on the page. Of course it gets pushed and of course mayhem ensues. We have this book in personalized format which is especially fun because it uses my child’s name a ton and they adore it.
“Hooray for Books!” by Brian Won- We are a big book loving family and are also huge fans of Brain Won so this book was an obvious winner for us. It is darling and celebrates one of our favorite things: books! So cute!
The Life Cycle’s Series (“Egg to Bee”, “Acorn to Oak Tree”, “Tadpole to Frog” & “Seed to Sunflower”) by Camilla de la Bedoyere- This is my little guy’s favorite nonfiction series for this age. The concept is covered in a simple way and the graphics are bright and appealing. Plus, the “preschool” topics are right up his alley. We have read these a million times.
“Edmond, The Moonlit Party” by Astrid Desbordes and Marc Boutavant- Edmond and his pom pom hat won his way into our heart pretty quickly. This story is one about courage, diversity, friendship and we love it.
“A Monster Mess!” by Kelly Dipucchio and Donna Ferrell- This is another personalized book that utilizes your child’s name and photo a bunch. Again, my kiddo gets the biggest kick out of the fact that he is the star of the story and requests this book all the time.
“How The Crayons Saved the Rainbow” by Monica Sweeney and Feronia Parker-Thomas- Our copy of this book is so well loved that I’m worried it is about to fall apart. Yet, despite the huge number of times I’ve read it I still haven’t grown tired of it. It is a sweet story about conflict resolution and teamwork and is such a fantastic book.
“Caring For Your Lion” by Tammi Sauer and Troy Cummings- This book has pretty much convinced us that we need a pet lion in our home. The playful illustrations and scenarios are so clever and silly that this book never ceases to entertain.
“Book of Bones: 10 Record Breaking Animals” by Gabrielle Balkan and Sam Brewster- This book is AWESOME! It is oversized and features 10 animals with incredible skeletal structures. Our favorite part is that some of the illustrations have raised, transparent “bones” on the animals so that you can feel their skeletal structure on them. It is so cool! At this age we just look through the illustrations together and I lead a discussion on what they show. t
“How To Find a Friend” by Maria S. Costa- This is a sweet story about two woodland creatures who want a friend, but cannot seem to find one. The really fun part is that their paths are constantly crossing, they just haven’t noticed. At least not until they literally bump into each other in the end. This one is always good for a giggle or two.
