“Heads and Tails” by Courtney Acampora and Beatrice Tinarelli
Don’t you love it when books can keep your kiddos occupied and happy? Even when they aren’t in the mood or don’t have the focus to sit down and read? Enter “Heads and Tails”. This great little companion is a book that induces giggles in fun-loving kids and can entertain forever.
It is a split-page flap book where you can mix and match the heads and tails of 22 different animals. Quite a few of these books exist, but this one has really struck our fancy and I’ll tell you why. The book is done in a super sturdy board book style and the pages are all double sided to increase the animal creating possibilities! The illustrations are bright and eye-catching for drawing attention in and adding to the playful atmosphere.
This book is all about fun and creating. The only real reading you do are the names of the new animals that you make-up. For example and elephant mixed with a giraffe becomes and “eleaffe” and a crocodile mixed with a porcupine becomes a “crocopine”. So fun right?! It is one that I plan on taking with us in the car, to appointments, and anywhere else my kids may need just a little something to put a smile on their face and help time pass pleasantly.
