“The Nursery Rhyme Book” by Andrew Lang, Debra McFarlane and Leslie Brook
Nothing quite says “childhood” like nursery rhymes, am I right? There is just something about them that speaks of generations of children enjoying the wonder and simplicity of the innocence of youth. Plus, they are unbelievably catchy. Say one in the morning and you run the risk of it being stuck in your head each day. I think that is one of the reasons why young children love them so much, because they are easy to learn and remember.
I love it when I put my little one up to nap time and I hear him in his room reciting nursery rhymes and I love how he lets me sing them sometimes at story time. I think that is why this collectable nursery rhyme edition is one that I am so excited about. It’s a beautiful keepsake of the rhymes we know and love, along with some that I am not familiar with. Plus their are over 100 traditional, black and white illustrations and six new full-color illustrations to swoon over. Oh, and an elaborate spine and cover with metallic gold embellishments. Yup, I’m kinda loving this one!
