Put Me in the Story Books by Sourcebooks
When “Put Me in the Story Books” contacted me and asked me if I would like a review copy or two of their books I was thrilled. Beautiful books that are personalized with your child’s name inside?! Of course! Doesn’t it sound fabulous?!
To make these books you go to their website and select one out of TONS that fits your recipient and the occasion the best. Perhaps you are making one for your child, or a baby shower gift, and there are even books for adults such as coloring books. I selected “Don’t Push The Button” for my toddler and “Cinderella” for my baby girl.
Once you have them selected you get to upload a photo of your recipient to be included into the book and write a dedication. Also, you obviously give them the name of the giver and recievier and that’s it! Your done! I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was. They let you preview what it will look like before you purchase and then they are off to your house.
I was thrilled with the two that we received, and so were my littles. “Don’t Push the Button” by Bill Cotter is already a wonderful book. It is an interactive one where a friendly monster implores you (the reader) not to push a beautiful, bright red, illustrated button on the page. However, you of course end up pushing it and all sorts of fun things happen. It is even more fun to get this personalized version because as your monster friend is talking to your child he gets to call him by name in the text! Such a blast. My little guy thinks its magic and is all smiles when I read it to him. It even includes their name bold and big on the cover (note: I edited my children’s names out of my photos for privacy purposes.) and includes a certificate of “pushing the button” with your child’s photo for them child to fill out with the date at the very end of the book. Such a nice touch.
The “Walt Disney’s Cindrella” book by was just as impressive. The vintage Cindrella illustrations had me swooning and already had me in love. However, I love how my daughters name is incorporated. They put it in the narration of the text so that the narrator of the book is speaking directly to your child. They also have little talk bubbles for Cinderella’s mice throughout the book that talk to your child using their name. It is so sweet.
These books really are wonderful. They make full use of your child’s name and pop it in everywhere in the most natural way possible. Each one also includes a short dedication that the sender can write to make it more personal and a treasure over the years. Working with them was fun and easy and I would definitely recommend their books to anyone. They are high quality and would make the most thoughtful gifts.
