“Solutions for Cold Feet” by Carey Sookocheff
Children (and humans in general) are faced with problems on a daily basis. Things such as missing toys, cookies that can’t be reached, and deciding what to wear can all be problems that need solutions. The good new is, children are very inventive and can come up with brilliant solutions on their own. The bad news is, sometimes they can get frustrated and forget to even think of solutions. Sometimes they need a little reminder that there are solutions for problems and that problems can turn out quite wonderful in the end.
That is why I love this book. It is simple enough for a toddler and is positive in every way. Sure, it contains problems and the little character gets frustrated, but things turn out great in the end. I also love that these “problems” are simple everyday ones such as cold feet and melting ice cream cones. I love that the solutions are simple (for the most part, some are pretty inventive) and that this book has a very matter-of-fact no-drama feel to it. Such a happy little book to help remind children to be happy.
