The Bot That Scott Built

The Bot That Scott Built by Kim Norman and Agnese Baruzzi

Have you ever created something wonderful only to have it turn out not quite as expected?  Well, that is what happened with Scott.  He built a robot and he was so proud to share it with his class, however, it wasn’t long before his bot was wreaking havoc.  We’re talking exploding demo volcanos, fire ants rampaging, boas and frogs loose, and a million other things that can go wrong in a fully stocked and wildly exotic science lab.  There is enough mischief caused that it is sure to have your littles in giggles.

The text in this one is a lot of fun as well.  Have you ever played that game called “I’m Going On a Picnic” where  you have to remember what everyone before you is taking to a fictional picnic before you add your item to the list that grows and grows?  Well, that is how the text in this book is.  Each new catastrophe is added to the growing list and you repeat it all from the beginning each time to really emphasize the domino effect Scott’s Bot has.  Again, it is quite fun!  I also love the expressions on all of the the students and teacher in the middle of the chaos and the vivid colors and details add to the party.  This is one worth checking-out.
