Richard Byrne Interactive Series
Have you checked this series out yet by Richard Byrne? They are so much fun! There is just something so magical about interactive books. They turn a regular reading experience into a personal one where you feel like you really are involved in the story and have more of a relationship with the characters. And as far as interactive books go, I can guarantee you have never seen any quite like these three. Richard is a pure creative genius in the way he executed these books. Below is a brief description of each book in order.

In this book Bella takes her dog on a walk when to her surprise the book “eats” him right where the pages crease! Her surprise, and yours, is taken to new levels as the gutter “eats” more and more objects including Bella and Ben! In the end the reader gets to come to the rescue by turning the book on it’s side and shaking it so that all the objects, including Bella, her Dog and Ben fall back out.
This sequel includes the return of our favorite characters Ben, Bella, and Bella’s dog. However, this time instead of there being a naughty book eating everything in sight, they fall out of their book entirely and land in another book. They commence on a journey traveling from book to book until they finally wind up in the right one again. (In a fun and clever way!) My favorite part of this book is all the different types of books that Ben and Bella travel through and how they interact with those books. They travel through everything from an activity book to comics.
This is the newest book in the series and comes out October 4th and lives up to all the high standards of the two books prior. This time Ben has a new remote control toy that he is so excited to show Bella. The only problem is that he soon discovers that the remote controls the book and not the toy. This wouldn’t be an issue except for the fact that he doesn’t know what buttons do what exactly. Bella and Ben end up in quite the predicament (hanging upside down in the book) and once again implore the reader for help. You, as the reader, get to “push” the buttons they ask you too and in the end you help them get straightened out again. Such a silly and fun time!
