If you are like me, you are pretty great at getting your Christmas shopping done when it comes to gifts for anyone and everyone. However, you may overlook the stockings and find yourself scrambling to fill them at the last minute. Sound familiar? To help me avoid this I have a few categories of items that are my go-to for stockings such as stickers and hot wheels cars. But do you know what else makes a fantastic stocking stuffer? Small books! They are adorable, promote literacy and aren’t small pieces of clutter that you will regret buying later on. (Another “stocking trap” that I often find myself being sucked in! đ ) Below is a list of tiny and small books that are perfect for baby bookworms up to the older bookworms (Board books are listed first.). They have a lot of awesomeness packed in their tininess and are sure to please on Christmas morning.

“Santa’s Workshop” by Holly Berry-Byrd and Francesco Zito- This book is perfect for the youngest of bookworms. It is super chunky with incredibly sturdy flaps that are durable as well as cute.
“Tiny Farm” and “Tiny Town” by Suzy Ultman- These are new favorites with us and I swear that I adore them as much as my toddlers. They are tiny board books in the shape of a building with crazy cute illustrations and tiny peek-through windows throughout.
“The Tiny Star: The Greatest Start the World Has Ever Seen!” by Arthur Ginolfi and Pat Schories- This charming story is about a little star who wants to shine as big and bright as the other stars. It has the sweetest ending where it finds itself honored to be the star to shine brightly over the manger in Bethlehem.
“Little Critter Colors” by Mercer Meyer- We are huge Little Critter fans and this book is no exception. Our little copy has been worn down and loved to the point of being taped back up with package tape. Some books are too good to part with!
“Crocodile Tears” by AndrĂ© François- This is a new printing of a lovely french book from the 1950âs and it is fabulous! The format of the book is small and long and comes in its own âpackagingâ box. The story explains a proposed idea of where the term âcrocodile tearsâ got itâs meaning (which centers around a crocodile being collected from the Nile and mailed via post) .
“Atlas of Miniature Adventures: A Pocket Sized Collection of Small Scale Wonders” by Emily Hawkins and Lucy Letherland- The whole “Atlas of Adventures” series is phenomenal and this is one of it’s newest editions. In it your bookworms can explore tiny maps and learn facts about the tiny wonders the world has to offer.
“It’s a Busload of Pigeon Books!” by Mo willems- Its the Pigeon books by Mo Willems! In a smaller size! Need I say more? I think not!
“This or That? (Flip Flap Pop-Up Book)” by Delphine Chedru and Bernard Duisit and “Can You Keep a Straight Face? (Flip Flap Pop-Up Book)” by Elisa GĂ©hinâ and Bernard Duisit. These little pop-up books have some of the best paper engineering that I have ever seen. My kids think they are magic and they never cease to entertain. *Special note: There are two new books being released in this series in January. One of them is: How Do You Sleep? (Flip Flap Pop-Up) by Olivia Cosneau and Bernard Duisit. (It is pictured in the stocking above.)
