“Under Water Under Earth” by Aleksandra Mizielinska and Daniel Mizielinski
Now at first glance at the above photo, you may think that my little guy is holding the book sideways, however, he’s not! That is the format they used creating the book! In fact, the illustrations go across the whole page spread which enables them to show depth. Which is what this book is about. Its about what is under the water and what is under the earth.
But wait, there’s more! This shows the front cover which is the side you open and look through if you want to explore “under the water”. However, if you flip the book over you will see that the back cover is red and sports the title Under Earth and if you open that side you will get to discover what is under the earth! This topsy-turvey format is useful, unique, and oh-so-fun. My kiddo got the biggest kick out of holding it sideways.
The illustrations can boast of bright vivid color and lots of wonderful little details. The text is all informative, as this is a nonfiction book, and explores so many interesting facts about the world around you. We are having so much fun learning all kinds of new things. This one is definitely one to get for budding scientists and curious minds everywhere!
